Vista Ridge High School · Leander, Texas
Garratt Mejia · 6'1" Shooting Guard · Class of 2029
In physics, G-Force is what you feel when acceleration becomes undeniable. On the court, TXGForce is exactly that — a gravitational pull so strong, teammates rise, defenses collapse, and programs win.
Player Profile
Garratt "GForce" Mejia is not just a basketball player — he is a system-changer. At 6'1" with elite court vision and an engine that doesn't quit, Garratt brings a gravitational presence that reshapes every game he enters. A sophomore at Vista Ridge High School in Leander, Texas, he plays with the poise of a seasoned upperclassman and the hunger of someone who knows exactly where he's going.
Off the court, Garratt is a builder — of cars, code, campsites, and character. His multidimensional identity as a student-athlete, Eagle Scout, and aspiring engineer makes him the rare recruit who doesn't just fill a roster spot — he elevates a program.
Identity Pillars
The G-Force brand is built on six pillars that define who Garratt is on and off the court.
A 6'1" shooting guard with elite court vision, lockdown defense, and the work ethic to be in the gym before everyone else and leave after. NCAA College is not a dream — it is the plan.
Rooted in the discipline and self-reliance of scouting and Texas outdoors culture. The same skills that build a campsite build a champion — preparation, adaptability, and grit.
Leadership isn't worn — it's felt. GForce leads by gravity. When he's in the room, in the huddle, or on the floor, the standard rises. That pull is real, and it's contagious.
There's something about knowing how an engine works that sharpens the mind. Garratt gets his hands dirty in the garage, developing the patience and precision that translate everywhere.
With interests in computer science, engineering, and project management, Garratt thinks in systems. He's not just building a basketball career — he's building a future.
Born and raised in the Lone Star State, Garratt carries Texas pride in everything he does. Big game mentality, big state dreams, and a work ethic only Texas can produce.
Character & Leadership
Basketball builds the athlete. Scouting built the leader. A decade in Scouts BSA shaped the discipline, service mindset, and composure coaches see on the court.
Planned, funded, and led the installation of 13 mile markers along the Brushy Creek North Fork Trail in Cedar Park, built from recycled plastic posts. Coordinated volunteers, city officials, and the Parks Department from proposal to completion.
Served as Crew Chief for the Sea Base Bahamas Sailing Adventure out of Abaco, Bahamas, one of Scouting's premier high adventure programs. Led the crew on the open water, learning to sail while keeping everyone organized and calm in unfamiliar territory. He also holds American Red Cross Lifeguard certification.
Elected to the top youth leadership position in the troop. Ran meetings, planned campouts, and taught younger Scouts, including the First Aid merit badge. The same voice that leads a troop leads a locker room.
Represented his troop among tens of thousands of Scouts from across the country at the Summit Bechtel Reserve in West Virginia, building independence and connections far from home.
Coaches: fewer than 6 in 100 Scouts ever reach Eagle. It is a four year commitment to service, leadership, and finishing what you start.
"Elite guards score points. G Force changes the trajectory of entire programs."
